ARNOLDS PARK LIBRARY BOARD

The Arnolds Park Library Board met Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. in the Arnolds Park Library.
Present were Robb Keizer, Mitch Brown, Barb Woodley, and library director Kara Rice. Absent were Mary Dreier and Diana Jensen.
The minutes of September 12, 2018 were read. Brown moved to accept the minutes as read. Keizer seconded. All aye.
Rice informed the board the library would be closing Friday, October 19th for a county wide get together for in service. All Arnolds Park library employees plan to attend. One of the presenters is a psychologist with a talk on behavior in the library.
Rice said that soon the library will require a part time as needed person. After discussion, Keizer moved that the library explore opportunities to hire another person part time or as needed. Brown seconded. All aye.
Swim Season: Rice informed the board that she will be assistant coach on a swim team on a smaller scale from November through the end of January. The board members were supportive of her involvement.
Budget FY2019: Rice advised that the budget will be on next month’s agenda.
Library Accreditation and Policy Review: Rice reported that she updated and made some changes to the following library policies: Circulation, Internet and Computer Usage, Patron Behavior, and Collection Development. The board members had reviewed the changes. Following discussion, Brown moved to accept the changes as presented. Keizer seconded. All aye.
Board Continuing Education: The board members had received a copy of Chapter 13 Evaluating the Library Director of their study.
Bills: Bills were presented through October 10, 2018 in the amount of $3,961.15. Rice reviewed and explained the bills for the board. There being no questions, Brown moved to approve the bills as presented. Keizer seconded. All aye.
The next meeting will be November 14, 2018. Keizer said he would be gone November, January and February. There being no further business, Keizer moved to adjourn. Brown seconded. All aye.
