The Arnolds Park Library Board met Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. in the Arnolds Park Library.

Present were Diana Jensen, Joyce Burgeson, Robb Keizer, Barb Woodley, Mitch Brown and Library Director, Kara Rice.

Report on “Deep Freeze” computer software: The program is working pretty well. The Computer Zone wrote up a software support agreement for 10 hours at $75.00 per hour that can cover both the City and the Library needs combined. There are a couple of small issues with the program they will look at later. Keizer moved to have Rice sign the contract. Burgeson seconded. All aye.

Creative Spirits Programming Update: The library set up a Creative Spirits Art program for August 16th. Rice received no return call to confirm the date, so had to cancel the class. In the meantime, she learned that Jillian from the Milford Library is willing to conduct the class. It will be held Tuesday, August 30th in the community room at Arnolds Park Library. The library will purchase easels and paint.

Summer Reading Program: Final numbers for this year’s program: At the end of July, 9.816 books were read. To celebrate, the library had an impromptu movie with popcorn and the children picked out prizes.

Bills were presented through August 10, 2016 in the amount of $3,126.88. Rice reviewed the bills. The remainder of the AWE computer not covered by grant was $300. The contract for copies reflects the high patron usage. Over 10,000 copies have been made for patrons over the last three months. Payments for Bridges is the E-book fee. There being no discussion, Burgeson moved to pay the bills as presented. Brown seconded. All aye.

The next meeting will be September 14, 2016.
