Scholastic Book Fair: The scholastic book fair is going on July 16th – 21st and is open to the public. The books are geared for age 3 years through 6th grade. They have sold $800 worth for the first three days. Rice was thinking for next year of extending the level through 8th grade. A this point, 50% of the profits have been paid back in scholarship dollars.
Library accreditation: Rice said every four years, the library must apply for accreditation. By September, we need to be working on this. The board has to update policies and set new goals.
Friends of the Arnolds Park Library: Rice said that the Milford and Spirit Lake libraries have volunteers who help with various activities such as dusting shelves, etc. The Arnolds Park library doesn’t expect the Library Foundation and Library Board members to do this. She will ask the other libraries how they get volunteers.
There was no continuing education report this month.
Bills: Bills were presented through July 18, 2018. Rice said there was a change in the Baker and Taylor total from $1,578.29 to $812.97, making the total bills due $3,681.52.
