​The Arnolds Park Board met Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. in the Arnolds Park Library.

​Present were Mary Dreier, Diana Jensen, Barb Woodley, and library director Kara Rice. Absent were Robb Keizer and Mitch Brown.

​The minutes of October 11, 2017 were read. Dreier moved to accept the minutes as read. Jensen seconded. All aye.

Rice reported the new copier is ordered and should be coming soon.

​Computer filters/IT report: Rice said there has been no other issue with infringement of the computer filters. Jeff with Computer Systems has installed the Deep Freeze software on each computer which clears them of all patron activity when shut down.

​Budget: Next month Rice will present a proposed budget for the board to review and discuss. This will be finalized in January.

​Apollo Software: Everything with the new software is working well. The staff is adjusting and learning as they go.

​Schedule – Holidays etc: Rice informed the board members that she has agreed to be Assistant Coach for the Barracuda swim team. She started last week. On the days she has to leave a bit early, Deb will fill in. Rice said she may have to come in on some week-ends to catch up on work. For Thanksgiving holiday, the library will be closed November 23rd, 24th and 25th.

​Library Board Continuing Education: The board members were provided a copy of Chapter 4 of the Trustees Handbook titled “Learning the Job” for their reading and review. There were no questions on the material.

​Rice reported that story time is doing great. They had 17 children attending last time. The average is 6 to 8.

​Bills were presented through November 8th in the amount of $2,964.08. Rice commented the Versa cards were expensive. The Baker and Taylor and Amazon bills were for purchase of books and movies. There being no discussion, Dreier moved to accept the bills as presented. Jensen seconded. All aye.
